I’m a Director of Photography specializing in documentary and unscripted television. I’ve lived and worked in Los Angeles for the last 12 years.
With a career that began as a camera assistant on a range of unscripted and documentary television shows, I’ve built a reputation for strong visual storytelling, technical excellence, and collaborative leadership on set. I bring authenticity and emotion to real-life stories, often with limited resources and under real-world constraints.
I’ve most recently been the Director of Photography for the TV shows “Cold Justice” and “The Death Investigator” on the Oxygen Network. I’m a storyteller at heart with a wide range of experience shooting and editing sill imagery and cinematic video for television and web. My work has always centered on crafting intentional compositions, shaping light, and creating imagery that communicates a clear narrative.
Over the years, I’ve contributed to numerous productions across major networks including Netflix, Bravo, and Oxygen, developing a deep understanding of the unique visual and narrative demands of documentary television. From intimate interviews to dynamic vérité sequences, I bring a confident and consistent visual style that enhances story and tone, while staying adaptable to the realities of field production.
I’ve been a visual storyteller my entire life, starting at 12 years old when I auditioned for and was accepted into a performing arts school where I studied film and photography for 6 years. After obtaining my degree in Telecommunication from the College of Journalism at the University of Florida, I worked for GatorVision, the video department for UF’s Athletic Association. At GatorVision, I contributed to live sports broadcasts, operated cameras for game-day coverage, and edited a wide range of content including game highlights, player features, and social media pieces. I also took over production of GatorVision’s regional television show called “Gatorzone” – writing stories, shooting interviews, editing the show with commercial breaks, and delivering the bi- weekly 30-minute show to Fox Sports Florida. While working at the University of Florida, I won a Telly Award for a piece I edited about the Gators football team.
I moved to Los Angeles to pursue the television industry and have since worked my way up the industry ladder, working as a Camera Assistant and Camera Operator before eventually becoming the head of the camera department for television shows on major national networks.
I’ve worked in a variety of shooting environments on everything from single camera run and gun style documentary productions to large scale stage shows will many crews, such as “Top Chef” on Bravo. I have experience in a variety of shooting styles, including docu-follow, true crime, house reality, cooking competition, commercial product lighting and stage talk shows.
In addition to my cinematography work, I have experience editing video and creating motion graphics for various freelance clients. I’m proficient in the full Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop. I’ve edited highlight videos and motion graphics for Vanderbilt University football and basketball, shot feature web content for Men’s Health and Shape magazines (with celebrities Justin Bieber and Peyton List), created motion graphics, and been a cinematographer for independent short films and documentaries.
Having come up through the ranks, I understand the importance of teamwork at every level. I approach each project with professionalism, a calm demeanor, and a genuine respect for every crew member’s role. I’m known for being solution-oriented and ego-free—focused always on delivering compelling visuals that support the director’s vision and elevate the story.
Whether leading a multi-camera team or operating solo in the field, I bring a high level of technical proficiency and creative intent to each shoot. My background in reality television and documentary formats has honed my instinct for capturing authentic moments while ensuring visual cohesion throughout a series.
I would welcome the opportunity to contribute to your upcoming productions and collaborate with your creative team. I’d be happy to provide a reel, resume, and references upon request, and I look forward to the possibility of connecting further.
